Professional path and values

I chose the path of a police officer in my youth. I felt drawn to this field and wanted to do work that would be meaningful and useful to people and to society.

During my service I focused mainly on criminal intelligence and the fight against organised crime. This work demanded responsibility, discipline, the ability to manage stress, to make decisions in difficult situations and to trust one's colleagues.

Over the years my work was repeatedly recognised by the leadership of the Lithuanian police — I was commended more than 60 times for professional performance, responsible fulfilment of duties and the results achieved.

One of the more memorable moments of my career was an operation in which, together with a colleague, we had to resort to unconventional solutions in order to obtain important information and help solve a crime. Such situations required not only professional knowledge, but also discipline, psychological readiness, the ability to adapt quickly to circumstances and to trust the members of the team.

Life after service

Life after service became a kind of continuation of my police work.

Having finished my service and retired, I want to thank the Lithuanian police system for the opportunity to realise many of my ideas, and the state — for the pension granted to me.

I never wanted to be merely an observer or analyst of life. I wanted to remain an active participant in it. So, to the extent of my abilities, I became involved in community, professional and partly political activities, seeking to remain useful to people and to pass on the experience gathered during my years of service.

Community involvement

After finishing active service in the police, I continued to take an interest in public life. I took part in the work of election commissions and was also a candidate for the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania.

I see this activity as an opportunity to keep in touch with people, to better understand society's problems and to contribute to the search for shared solutions.

Current activities

After my service in the police I worked at AB Lietuvos geležinkeliai (Lithuanian Railways), where I also contributed to the prevention, detection and documentation of violations. It was another opportunity to apply my many years of professional experience.

Since 2020 I have lawfully carried out the activity of a licensed private detective. I provide services to individuals and businesses, helping to resolve various matters that call for experience, attentiveness and a responsible approach.

I regard this work as a natural continuation of the police profession in civilian life, allowing me to use the knowledge and skills accumulated over many years.

Hobbies

I advocate a healthy lifestyle and try to stay physically active. I go to the gym, play table tennis, swim and enjoy active leisure in nature.

After active service there was more opportunity to devote time to family and loved ones. This is one of the most important values in life.

Memories and a wish

I sincerely thank all the officers of the Operational Activities Division of the Klaipėda County Police Headquarters with whom I had the chance to work in 1999–2014. They were professional, brave people devoted to their duty who, risking their health and even their lives, helped solve and document many serious crimes.

I am proud to have had the opportunity to be part of this team. Work in the police gave me not only invaluable professional experience, but also many meaningful acquaintances and friendships.

Today a veteran is a person who guards their memories and respects the past, yet lives on. Active service in the police is behind me, but the sense of responsibility, the experience and the wish to be useful to people remain.

To younger officers I would like to wish self-confidence, the ability to be independent and, at the same time, to understand the importance of teamwork. Results are achieved not by those who merely speak, write or look good, but by those who have the will, the determination and who persistently pursue their goal.

I wish everyone strong health, endurance and success.
